WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO HAVE MANNERS

It is important to have manners to go out to eat, if you need a job, and to meet people.

My first reason is when you go out to eat, you need manners because you can't talk with your mouth full. Also if your face is dirty you need to clean your face. When you're eating and you burb you need to say excuse me because if not it would be rude.

Another reason is you need a job. You don't want to be rude to your boss. When you do have manners you can do your job right. Also you need manners because you do not want to be rude to coworkers.

My last reason has to do with meeting people. When you meet people or you accidently bump into somone you have to say excuse me, or else they might think you are mean. Also you need manners to say hello or nice to see you because if you don't greet people they might think you are unfriendly. You need manners to not be mean or selfish.

I think that's why manners are important. You need them to go out to eat, you need them at you job, and to meet people. Having manners is a big help to you.

Another reasons is he suruive a deadly fight between the rats shed and fangor.Gregor and boots made it out alive.None overlanders had fought a rat or if they did they be dead.Gregor has been brave is he lost his dad and the rats have him

Also another reasons is he has been strong all this time.Gregor has'nt gone crazy. He is looking after Boots.Another staying strong about his dad and how he going to fight for him.

Should cousino be on reveastain

I think they should let cousino on reveastion. My reasons is that help provide jobs, help thier communty, and adults can be responsible with gambling.

One of my reasons is it helps provide jobs.If they have a job at an cousino they won't be homless. Also helps them support them or family. The jobs also help them pay bills,The indiana cousino says they help provide jobs to 715,000 people who live in the reveastain.

Another of my reasons is the cousino help there communty. The cousino give donation to people in their communty. Also they help them when their is trouble. The cousino gives half of there money to there ravation when they need help or helps them provide electricty. The indian cousino say they donate to charity.

Also another reasons is they can be resposible with gambling. If they have problems they provide help. The have programes if they have problems with gambling. Also they can get help from there families. The national indian gaming association say only 0.8 percent have problems.

Those are my reason that they should have cousino on revation. They provide jobs, help there communty, and can be reponible with gambling

The Interview

Two weeks ago a tragedy happened, my two friends got detained.  So I asked them some questions.  Here are my questions:

1.  What was the struggle in detention?
One struggle was being exposed to so many cases.  I really just wanted to help everybody but I couldn't.  I helped with what ever I could - a phone call for someone- or when someone was sick.  But it was never enough.  These were the biggest struggles.

2.  Did the guards beat or mistreat you?
No the guards didn't beat me but there were times when they were mean to me.  There was a time when someone had a fever and I called the guard.  She came in and was mad.  She said that "The Doctor is coming."  When I called her again, she said, "Excuse me" and I said, "Excuse you."  That comment made her mad.  The next time when I called her to ask for a toothbrush she took me into the hall and lectured me.  But the guards were nicer than they had been before because there had been a hunger struke?

3.  What were the eproblems of people in there?
The problem is that many were not documented.  This is a problem because when they get a ticket and the police ask for their driver's license.  When they say they don't have a license.  They are taken to detention and held for three months.  Many of them don't have money to call their families.  They are criminalized.

4.  Did the people in detention tell you their stories?
Yes, they are really friendly, they are nice,  They offered me food.  They told me their stories,  It was bittersweet leaving because I made a lot of friends.  It was hard to leave them.  A typical story was "I was coming back from work and they pulled over and asked me for documents."  Most had families in Lousiana and they were worried,  they would sign their own voluntary departure.

5.  Would you do it again?
Yes, but not now because it is emotionally draining.  I missed my family.  I would do it again and be more prepared next time.  I would have more resources.  We got a couple of cases inside but we lacked lawyers to represent them.

Now, I will interview my firend who didn't get detained but helped Isaac and Jonathan from the outside.

Jonathan Perez

1.  Did you make any friends in detention?
Of course, we made a lot of friends.  I think what was difficult was that we were only going to be friends with them there.  That was the hard part.

2.  Why did you do it?
Because it had to be done.  It was the natural next step.  We have been trying to prove that the government is lying about deporting people who are not criminals.  It was a special mission and it was risky but we needed to go as far as we could go.  We needed to go into deportaiton, which is what we all fear.  We realized this is not scary.  But we have alot of people helping us.  If it wasn't us it would have been someone else.

3.  If you had chance to talk to Obama what would you say?
I never thought about that question because I think talking to him wouldn't change it because there are many things involved beside his personal opinion.  If I did have the chance, I would say "what makes you different from me."  You dad was an immigrant.  What makes you different from me than you can deport my mother or father.  Then, depending on his answer I would say why do you do what you do.  My goal has never been to address him.  When he ran for President, he came to our high school and said he supported the Dream Act. I want to address him as a person as Barack [the person] and hold him accountable as a person.  I want to expose his humanity of lack of humanity.

Andrea Ortega

1. How did you communicate with them when they were in detention?
They could call us but we couldn't call them.  It cost a dollar a minute.  It was really expensive, like $6.00 a minute.  One hundred dollars would buy you fifteen minutes.

2.  Was it worth spending you money?
Yes, of course it was.  I know they are strong people.  But being outside and not knowing was nerve racking.  Not hearing from them made me worry about them.  But they were also organizing and getting information on details on cases.  They were helping people inside.

(At this point in the interview, we all broke down and sang "Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer.)
I was watching a video in my english class and it was about champions of change. So each of them pick an issue from there community.
If i can choose an issue from the champions of change it would be suicide issue suiside is very important. How to stop suiside is tell kids life is worth living for. Also to start campains for kids who need help.

One reason to stop suiside is to stop bullies that is manily the reason kids to it.So to stop bullying is to stop suiside.Suiside can be preventable by have intervention about there problem.Another way you can prevent it is to have a class about suiside and how it can be dangerous. Also schools and families have voluntear offer help. Also schools could have consuling.

Another reason that suiside can happen is depresion. How we can stop it is therpy. If a family member has a disorder, that person need to be aware that the samething could happen to them. They need
to know that they should get help if they even our thinking about suiside.

Those were my reasons to pervent suiside.

Music is important for survival or a luxury

Music is important for survival here are my reasons. It helps us  have fun, helps us think and if you have a bad day music will help

Music is important for having fun.We need it for dancing. Without out dancing life would be boring. Also we need music for parties. Parties are mostly for blasting the music.

Music is important for survival by helping us think. Remembering stuff like songs you gain more brain cells. It helps you think or music will help you calm you down. Also when your doing homework and listening to music helps you think.

Music is important by having a bad day. You can relax. How you can relax is you go home to sleep while listening to music. You relate songs  what you felt today. How is if  you are mad, sad, or happy you can relate to the songs .

Those were my reasons. That is why music is important by having fun,it helps you think and if you have a bad day music will help.
